When you’ve been in the business of commercial real estate for more than 60 years, you learn to be nimble and adaptable, ready to embrace emerging technology and innovative change over and over again. That’s what Signature Management has done with our community in a variety of ways over the years, helping to rank our award-winning community in the top three reviewed communities in our region.
In 2019, we made it Monticello at Powhatan’s mission to go green, to improve energy and water efficiency for our residents and to leave a smaller carbon footprint on our planet. Making green improvements at Monticello at Powhatan meant making important repairs, renovations and installation of a variety of energy and water savings measures, and we’re proud to say that our hardworking maintenance team and incredible vendors did an excellent job achieving our goals from start to finish.
Our leadership team felt that we could make the greatest impact by tackling energy and water savings, and this meant improving several of our existing systems.
What did we do to make Monticello at Powhatan go green this calendar year?
Here are just a few examples:
- We updated to Energy Star rated appliances.
- We switched to LED lights in our interiors.
- We installed water saving shower heads, with a low flow of 1.5 GPM.
- We installed water saving toilets, with a low Flow of 1.28 GPF.
- We have LED lights ordered and ready to be installed in the exterior of our property, coming in the next few months.
Being a great community and a wonderful place to call home is more than great amenities and a warm and caring staff. It’s also about being responsible for making our planet a better place to live.
